Program III: Mastering the American Business Mindset

This program teaches practical ways to integrate successfully into the American business culture.

A comparison between country specific business values and American business values is provided as a framework for understanding the “American business mindset.” The workshop provides a lens of cultural understanding to enhance the effectiveness of cross-cultural collaboration as well as the efficiencies of global teams. The historical context behind key business attributes including individual responsibility, meritocracy, ambition, accountability, metrics for success, risk tolerance, and loyalty are outlined as way to increase personal mastery when working with American colleagues and customers. 

Specific skill development including communication training, assertiveness training, presentation training, providing feedback, and informal networking, which are central to “the American way of doing business,” is provided.
